The Institute of Contemporary Art presents Myths of the Marble, a group exhibition conceived and produced in collaboration with the Henie Onstad Kunstsenter (HOK) in Norway. The exhibition, co-organized by Alex Klein, Dorothy and Stephen R. Weber (CHE'60) Curator, ICA, and Milena Høgsberg, Senior Curator, HOK, considers how the “virtual” has been engaged by a select and varied group of contemporary artists as a way to image and imagine the world as both a site of possibility and as a set of limitations.

OUT OF CONTEXT is a curated online exhibition showcasing work with a new understanding of visual language by removing it from its intended statement, setting or circumstance. 4th Annual Hackathon on Accessible Technologies.

How do museums in the 21st century leverage their collections through technology to promote empathy? More human connection is needed to bridge the enormous social and environmental challenges we face around the world. AAC wants to empower people to create their own solutions and provide the space to express themselves. Empathy is a critical component of global competence and is the key to effective communication and collaboration. We are inviting you for a day of talking, listening, design-thinking, and creativity in order to develop ideas for green initiatives, diversity and cross-cultural dialogue. Abington Innovation Center is where the arts inspire empathy. Come develop ideas for projects that AAC will undertake in the future. Join us for the Empathy Hack Workshop.

This event will curate a conversation about the biological, social, and economic impacts of adversity and stress, and the varying roles that technology can play in helping to address these issues. Have you ever wondered how multiple people work to create a website or app at the same time? It relies heavily on something called version control, which is what Git is famous for. In this workshop, the girls and their parent will pull a copy of a web page from a Github code repository and work together as a team to edit the webpage. The girls will learn how Github allows thousands of people to work on a project together to add new features and easily view changes. They will get to continue to customize their website at home as a team. No prior technology experience necessary.

In a combination workshop and jam session, participants will learn about electronics and sound by building and using simple electronic circuits. Amplifiers, oscillators, and filters will be built from scratch for participants to take home.

Innovation Day is a 3 hour string of labs lightning talks, live demos, and interaction that showcases new and emerging technologies from some of Philadelphia’s top agencies and innovation labs.

Each classroom will be showcasing students and their coding skills, as well as, the STEM initiatives the school is working on. Check out the top 2 districts when it comes to STEM, Makerspaces, and coding in the county. At Ridley students will be using ozobots and iPads, programming their robots to complete different tasks.
